The Tax and Statutory Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's overall compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. This position involves strategic planning, leadership, and coordination of compliance activities. The Tax and Statutory Manager is responsible for managing Tax and Statutory Team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all compliance-related tasks, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and implementing best practices to maintain a culture of compliance within the organization.

Manage the Tax and Statutory department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for projects and day-to-day operations
People and Performance Management - Ability to develop high performing teams that are able to thrive in changing environments by addressing complex disputes
Provide training and coaching to staff, ensuring adherence to procedures.
Conduct staff meetings and ensure necessary tools are provided for colleagues to improve compliance service.
Encourage feedback for continuous improvement and conduct performance reviews.
Assist team in resolving compliance related issues specially in the proper tax treatment, recording and presentation of business transactions of the company
Regulatory Compliance - Lead in-depth assessments of regulatory compliance, develop and implement comprehensive compliance strategies, and guide teams to ensure alignment with complex financial regulations.
Manage the compliance activities of multiple units (BUs), ensuring adherence to BIR, LGU, SEC, BOI, LTO Accreditation, DTI, PEZA, BOC and other regulatory requirements
Uphold current technical expertise in regulatory rules and regulations and updated with new practices and government directives
Financial Reporting and Analysis - Demonstrates advanced financial analysis, strategic planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Ensures financial statements are timely prepared and presented in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards
Provide insights and analysis on tax and statutory-related financial data.
Performs financial analysis versus budget
Provides reports and schedules as needed by auditors and other stakeholders
Compliance and Control - Lead comprehensive compliance initiatives, oversee and ensure compliance across complex regulatory bodies. Design and implement, manage robust internal control frameworks
Ensures that policies, procedures, and controls related to compliance are being implemented
Identifies control gaps and proposes control processes in the business transactions of the company and ensures it addresses control issues
Policy Development and Innovation - Lead the development and enhancement of policies, providing strategic insights, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and mentoring junior staff on innovative policy practices
Prepare policies and procedures; update as necessary
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of tax and statutory processes
Work instruction documentation of processes
Customer Relations - Implements customer and stakeholder relations processes and monitoring customer satisfaction
Maintain effective relationship with regulatory bodies and external providers
Effective Collaboration - Overseeing and improving communication processes, managing teams, and ensuring that coordination efforts support productivity
Work closely with BUs, departments and branches to ensure seamless coordination of compliance-related activities.
Collaborate with teams to address any discrepancies or issues.
Workplace Safety and Compliance - Actively supports the facilitation of safety inspections and creation of incident reports, leads emergency response, and enforces safety and security policies
Implements workplace safety and security policies within the Compliance Department.
Ensure data privacy and confidentiality policies are implemented
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
Experience
Professional: At least 5 years of relevant experience 
Leadership: At least 2 years of experience in leadership position
Training
Training for Professional Development (New accounting standards, regulatory requirements)
Certifications and Licenses
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Others
Knowledge of accounting processes and ERP systems
Knowledge in Tax and Regulatory requirements
Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
