Job Description

Assists the Accounting Manager (Tax) in preparing relevant schedules and files as required to comply with statutory and corporate requirements and to resolve tax issues as it arises (for SEAOIL and/or its affiliates)
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Files monthly and quarterly returns (Bureau of Internal Revenue Forms 1601E, 2550M, 2550Q, and 2000)
a. Performs electronic submission/filing of tax returns for Electronic Filing and Payment System or EFPS-registered companies or manual submission/filing of tax returns for non-EFPS-registered companies
2. Prepares and files monthly and quarterly schedules of Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) and Value Added Tax (VAT), i.e., Monthly Alphalist of Payees (MAP), Quarterly Summary List of Sales, Purchases and Importations, Semestral List of Regular Suppliers, and Summary Alphalist of Withholding Agents of Income Payments Subjected to Withholding Tax (SAWT)
a. Gathers pertinent data from the Accounting Assistant (Affiliates)
b. Classifies transactions based on the required information in the tax return, i.e., nature of payment and alphanumeric tax code
c. Compiles relevant supporting documents needed for tax claim details, e.g., Tax Identification Numbers (TIN's) and addresses of suppliers and customers
d. Submits tax schedules through electronic submission as validated using Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) alphalist data entry program and relief data entry system
3. Processes Creditable Withholding Tax Certificate (BIR Form 2307)
a. Prepares and issues Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Form 2307 based on the schedule of monthly alphalist of payees (on or before the 20th of the month following the end of the taxable quarter) or upon request of the payee
4. Monitors timely submission/filing of Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Returns (for Affiliates) as per statutory deadline
a. Prepares and updates the tax filing monitoring sheet
5. Assists in preparation of relevant schedules for the resolution of outstanding Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) audits
a. Vouches and traces invoices and receipts to confirm or disprove validity of assessments
6. Assist in the BOI annual reportorial requirements.
7. Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS ROLE:
BS Accountancy graduate
Fresh grads are welcome to apply
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Must be willing to do field work, including out of town
Analytical and knowledgeable in Excel and other MS Office applications
Expectations from Candidates:
Candidates who are invited for HR screening will need to undergo and pass an online exam and/or technical exam, and accomplish HR documents, personality tests, and essay exams before proceeding to the HR interview.
Candidates who pass the HR interview would then need to submit soft copies of their available pre-employment requirements, such as the Transcript of Records, Diploma, and NBI clearance. The complete list will be provided by the recruiter.
In the event candidates are hired, they would be required to submit hard copies of all the pre-employment requirements and pass the medical exam and background check before onboarding.
