Essential Skills and Experience:
• Business Degree majoring in Accounting or Commerce
• Minimum 5 years tax experience in an Australian based accounting firm
• Div 7A loans, capital gains calculations, different business structures
• Proven track record working on multiple clients at once
• Solid working knowledge of Xero and/or MYOB
• Intermediate level of MS Excel spreadsheets
• A sound understanding of GST treatment
• High level attention to detail
• A positive attitude, high degree of initiative, motivation and problem-solving ability
• Tech savvy
• Quick thinker
Duties include:
• Preparing and completing of financial statements and tax returns for
o Individuals
o Sole traders
o Partnerships
o Trusts
o Companies
• Tax Planning work (budgeting, forecasting, tax minimisation solutions)
• Review client data files
• Liaising with clients
• Liaising with external bookkeepers
• Client meetings
• Mentoring and training a graduate accountant
• Review of graduate accountant's work
• Assisting the bookkeeping team at peak times with BAS/IAS preparation
• Assist the senior bookkeeper with BAS reviews in peak times
