We're expanding in Atlantic Canada and we need your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication as part of our team. Job Summary: As a Systems Engineer, you will carry out the following job activities - . Diagnose and support build/deployment failures in Prod/Non-Prod systems. . Lead triage and perform root cause analysis. . Work closely with developers and administrators to create and maintain build scripts. . Enhance system monitoring . Work closely with Prod and Non-Prod environment owners to develop and maintain a role-based workflow that supports segregated duties. . Learn and understand the various application architectures and develop supportable automation processes. . Develop and maintain supporting documentation for all automated processes. . Coordinate and lead training and information sharing meetings with the rest of the system engineering team. . Oversee and support Production deployments during major release activities for components owned by the system engineering team. . Participate in Project meetings to gather build/deploy requirements. . Optionally, some on call or weekend support responsibilities. . Work closely with vendors and consulting groups to troubleshoot and enhance the functionality and performance within the DevOps processes. . Lead the effort to leverage Jenkins towards the launch of Continuous Integration. . Maintain and enhance the use of UrbanCode Deploy in conjunction with Jenkins. . Re-factor and optimize current build scripts using modern methodologies and technologies. . Server as the Subject Matter Expert for the DevOps resources. Required Technical Skills: . Experience with Red Hat Linux or other Unix systems . Experience with use of Dynatrace . Experience with Web Application Servers like Tomcat, Jboss, Websphere or similar. . Experience with Maven, Gradle and Ant scripting . Clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycles . Experience using Microsoft Office applications. . Experience with tools like Subversion . Experience configuring and supporting Cloudbees Jenkins. . Experience using and configuring Github . Experience with containerization platforms like Kubernetes or Openshift Required Non-Technical Skills: . Strong leadership and communication skills including ability to influence others without authority in order to support a large, demanding environment . Strong analytical and technical ability including strength in general issue troubleshooting . Planning & coordination capabilities . Ability to quickly learn specific processes, topology, tools often with limited documentation Required Qualifications: .
