SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Description
We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently as well as to assist the application support team in their day to day work.
Responsibilities
Install and configure software and hardware
Manage network servers and technology tools
Set up accounts and workstations
Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
Windows policy administration
Troubleshoot issues and outages
Level 3 support for infrastructure
Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
Automation of recurring tasks using PowerShell
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Build and maintain an internal technical documentation with manuals and IT policies
Requirements
Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
Strong knowledge of Windows Server Administration (2012 and newer) is required
Knowledge of Installation, Configuration and Administration of Windows 7 and 10 Clients
Skills in Network Infrastructure (Subnetting, DNS, Routing, Firewall rules)
Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language
Excellent knowledge of administrating Windows servers
Basic knowledge of Linux system administration
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
Team player with excellent communication skills
BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
