Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to join our team. This full-time role reports to the Ethical and Sustainability Manager. These roles sit adjacent to Quality Assurance and Product Teams, with the goal to build positive, ongoing relationships with our vendors, on both Ethical Sourcing and Sustainable Packaging fronts.
The Sustainability Coordinator will be required to;
- Understand baseline Ethical Sourcing requirements of the client
- Become well versed in the most common social compliance audit methodologies BSCI, SMETA as well as less common RBA, SA8000, ICTI
- Be trained to understand the different additional requirements of each of our major retails
- Assess audit and other written materials against our code of conduct and that of the retailers and make recommendations accordingly
- Contact vendors directly with questions, queries and deadlines
- At times, the role will be responsible for collecting, reviewing and tracking remediation activities of social audit reports and certifications
- Manage data across multiple platforms, AX, Monday.com etc
Required Experience
- Previous ESG experience for a manufacturer or importer
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong data (excel) skills are essential, as well as ability to be organised and consistent with data
- Ability to apply sustainability principles and concepts in a fast- moving commercial environment
- An ability to "push through" vendor resistance to achieve business outcomes and identify what will motivate vendors towards compliance
A Successful Candidate must have
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Experience Advantage
- Quality Assurance (product) mass production goods.
- Auditing (factory) particularly social compliance and or workplace health and safety would be well regarded
- A candidate with packaging technologist qualifications and demonstrable knowledge and experience in sustainable packaging would be someone we would wish to speak to!
