Position: Structural Designers
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
At least 6 months experience in any field of Civil Engineering
Passed the Civil Engineering Licensure Exam
Placer in CE Licensure Exam (a plus but not required)
Strong grades in major structural engineering subjects (i.e., RC design, Steel design, etc.)
Graduate with honors and/or having a master's degree (a plus but not required)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Firm understanding of mechanics of materials
Proficient in Excel spreadsheet and CAD
Basic knowledge in AISC 13th /14th / 15th Edition (ASD/LRFD) provisions
Job Description
Read and understand structural design drawings and specifications that were created by different Engineers of Record (EOR). Documents will be in English
Ask written clarification questions (RFI's) where the EOR documents are not 100% clear
Consistently produce accurate calculations for steel connections using hand, Excel software and Mathcad software
Learn and proficiently use AISC ASD/LRFD design methodology, and related codes/design guides, relative to connection design
Sketch/draw connection design results using straight lines and clear writing
Clearly communicate important design information verbally and in writing to other employees and clients of the Company
