Structural Design Assistant Manager primary responsibility is to prepare and issue design documents for reinforced concrete and metal structures, ensuring compliance with quality, time, and cost targets, as well as design and construction regulations and environmental standards. The Structural Design Assistant Manager will work independently, liaising with clients, stakeholders, and consultants/contractors throughout the design process to identify and address project requirements effectively.
Primary Purpose: To lead design teams in delivering projects and to provide structural engineering services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical:
Prepare and issue design documents such as structural calculations and drawings for reinforced concrete and metal structures
Ensures that the design solutions comply with quality, time, and cost targets as wells with design/construction regulations and environmental standards
Be able to liaise with Client, other stakeholders, and consultants/contractors independently during the design process and ensure requirements are clearly identified and addressed
Preparing technical reports on the works performed and design explanatory notes
Participating in design review and approval by controlling entities and expert review authorities
Present technical solutions to Client and their representative
Providing comments and opinions on innovation proposals and inventions, as well as draft of regulatory documentation concerned with design and construction
Studying of various design options to identify advanced structural solutions that are in line with local and international best practices
Coordination of subcontractors' works
Checking of design team's output
Business / Project Management:
Manage a team of engineers and draftsman to achieve project objectives within agreed timeline and budget expectations
Plan, organize and manage all technical activities and output as required.
Report to upper management about project status including accomplishment and finances
Estimate manpower and fees for various projects
Monitor project fee against cost
Assist in the billing process
Assist in the development of ESCA's business in the Philippines
Other task that may be assigned from time to time.
Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage
Registered Civil Engineer by PRC
With at least 10 years' experience in the related field preferably in design consulting companies
With at least 5 years' experience in managing design teams
Knowledge of construction regulations, technical standards and local/international codes and best practices
Working knowledge and experience with STAAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP, and other equivalent/related design software
Has handled multilevel projects such as Steel designs, High rise designs
Experience in bridge design or retrofitting design is a plus
With strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Detailed and result oriented
Computer literate
