Job Description
Permanent WFH - Steel Structural Detailer
Full Time (8hrs/day) - Graveyard Shift
As a Steel Structural Detailer, you will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate drawings, models, and plans for steel structural projects. Working closely with engineers, architects, and project managers, you will play a critical role in translating conceptual designs into precise technical documentation that guides the fabrication and construction process.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to understand project specifications, requirements, and design intent.
Create detailed 2D and 3D models, plans, and drawings of steel structures using industry-standard software (such as Tekla Structures or AutoCAD).
Develop shop drawings that include dimensions, materials, connection details, and other relevant information for fabrication and construction.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards, codes, and project requirements in all detailed drawings.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to address design discrepancies and resolve issues.
Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and cut lists to support procurement and materials management processes.
Review and incorporate revisions and mark-ups provided by project stakeholders while maintaining version control.
Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity in design and detailing.
Assist in the development and improvement of detailing standards, procedures, and best practices.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software advancements, and construction methodologies related to steel structural detailing.
Contribute to maintaining a comprehensive library of detailing components and templates for future use.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation, files, and records related to detailing work
Qualifications:
Proficiency in steel detailing software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of steel structural systems, construction practices, and fabrication processes.
Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations governing steel structures.
Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to producing accurate and error-free drawings.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design and detailing challenges.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and technologies as they emerge
