Description
Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients and their relatives.
III. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
- To provide physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual care to patients to meet the goal of total number of patient care towards prevention, promotion, detection treatment, rehabilitation, and health education.
- Responsible during admission and discharge
- Orients patients with hospital facilities and available facilities of In-patient.
- Establish and maintains rapport of patients
- Maintains confidentiality of patient's records
- Receives proper endorsement of patient and endorses adequate stocks of emergency drugs on hand, emergency cart inventory, and safeguarding drugs and medicine of patients.
- Provide frequent patient evaluations including monitoring of vital signs like bp, temperature, pulse, etc. and record it.
- Carries out orders from the physician concerning treatment of patients within 24 hours accurately and with competence and makes appropriate and immediate referrals of important observations about patient's condition at all times
- Coordinate with other members of the healthcare team
- Administers medications and treatment observing 10 rights in giving medication
- Documents accurately medications administered intake and output, and nursing interventions done.
- Collects specimen such as blood, sputum, stool, and urine, and record results.
- Relay laboratory and diagnostic results to In-house physician
- Ensure safety of the patient during transfer from one department to another
- Provide basic bedside care for pre and post-surgical patients
- Maintain skill and knowledge in using various medical devices
- Accepts and delegates work from his/her superior
- Performs additional duties assigned
- Give psychological support to the patient and family members
- Maintain skills and knowledge by participating various nurse education programs, seminars, staff meetings, and workshops.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
