Job Descriptions
Receives endorsement from the previous shift and prepares endorsement to the incoming shift.
Responsible for the maintenance and orderliness of the laboratory.
Reconciles laboratory request with the patient's result done by the previous shift.
Checks and records the temperature of all refrigerators, machine and/or equipment.
Performs daily maintenance of all machines and equipment and recommends repair, if necessary.
Performs routine maintenance, calibrations and quality control of laboratory equipment/instrumentation as directed by the laboratory standard operating procedure within the predetermined time schedule, recognizing errors, responding in an appropriate manner, and documenting completion.
Receives and evaluate the suitability of samples before acceptance for testing.
Performs laboratory tests requested except for Anti-HIV 1,2 and Hepatitis B Ag screening.
Receives external quality control samples for national reference laboratories and perform required test following recommended procedure.
Promptly and courteously attend to all clients who wish to avail of the laboratory's various services.
Receives specimens and extract blood specimen.
Maintains accurate, updated and legible record of all the laboratory results in the logbook.
Verifies laboratory results prior to signing and release to requesting parties.
Monitors the expiration dates of the reagents.
Charges test request and ensures that all tests done are timely and accurately charged.
Disinfects working area at the end of each shift and ensure that it is clean prior to endorsement.
Performs inventory count on weekly and monthly basis.
Orients, trains and supervises all Medical Technology Interns.
Acquires cash advance for send-out tests from the Treasury Section and timely liquidate the expenses incurred from the sent-out tests accordingly.
Performs duties as Member of different hospital committee, as necessary.
Actively participates to Hospital's Quality Improvement Activities as part of continuous quality improvement implemented by the Quality Management Department.
Receives and validates laboratory request and request for blood extraction.
Answers and directs telephone calls.
Receives incoming documents (notices, communications, etc.).
Performs any other duties which are incidental or consequential to the above, as may be assigned by the department head or representative.
Participates in staff development activities, meeting and hospital activities and events, when needed.
Performs duties as members of different hospital committee, as necessary.
Job Qualifications
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
Registered Medical Technologist in the Philippines (PRC).
Willing to Start ASAP.
