Job Description
The incumbent shall be involved in various aspects of design, engineering and operations of the voice data networks and related equipment. Provide project planning, implementation and support of new network or voice systems and direct technical analysis of hardware, software or networks.
Responsibilities:
. Develops scripts/programming (if applicable) for voice/data networking systems and applications, based on defined technical specifications/design documents (e.g., D&E documents)
. Creates test plans for execution by applicable groups (e.g., engineers)
. Specifies and/or orders all required voice hardware, data hardware and circuits defined in technical specifications/design documents
. Works with vendors to review potential system/coding issues (e.g., bug scrubs) and identify fixes, as needed
. Validates compliance with voice/data networking systems and applications standards (e.g., LAN/WAN standards guide)
. Reviews, troubleshoots, and validates potential routing/switching/voice issues and capabilities
. Collaborates with applicable testing groups (e.g., application owners, engineers) to ensure proper functionality of relevant voice/data networking systems and applications
. Performs pre-production testing (e.g., staging) to ensure that all system components operate as designed
. Conducts/monitors testing activities, evaluates results and remediates
. Proactively monitors performance of voice/data networking systems and applications, and reports/escalates problems/issues as needed
. Adheres to established best practices for deploying voice/data networking systems and applications (e.g., vendor best practice recommendations)
. Works with Tier II teams to help resolve complex issues
. Conducts ongoing performance testing and tuning to identify emerging performance issues (e.g., capacity management)
. Identifies and communicates needs for additional hardware and upgrades/downgrades
. Troubleshoots technical problems/issues and identifies/implements appropriate solutions
. Demonstrates understanding of and adheres to established security requirements and standards when installing/managing/maintaining applicable voice/data networks
. Manages/monitors service contracts and licensing to ensure compliance and control costs
. Ensures that all required devices are included in network management tools
. Monitors changes in networking systems and applications, and ensures that applicable documentation and audiences are updated (e.g., Help Desk, technical trainers, engineers)
. Monitors emerging technologies and makes appropriate recommendations for adoption
. Develops/executes/reviews applicable reports (e.g., performance, capacity) and distributes to appropriate audiences (e.g., VDN engineers, leadership, business partners, voice/data networking teams)
. Sets appropriate thresholds for notifications
. Provide training support to applicable audiences (e.g., Help Desk, technical trainers, engineers)
Skills/Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
. Must have 3-5 yrs of Telecom VOIP/SIP experience
. Customer Service - Help Desk experience

. Amenable to work on night shift / graveyard shift and hybrid setup
. Amenable to go onsite 2x/month in Taguig or Quezon City
