About the role
The Sr. Data Scientist is part of central factory automation group of Nexperia for all of its Back End sites. Analytics is a key strategy for factory automation and data scientist is responsible for identifying avenues wherein techniques like machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, data based decision making can help Nexperia BE sites to deliver more OEE, more Yield, reduce cost of manufacturing , more productive workforce etc . The Data Scientist is also responsible for introducing the new concept to factories and prepare workforce to adapt them, manage them and in-time also develop new algorithms.
What you will do
Understand the factories , manufacturing process , data availability and avenues for improvement
Define , together with engineering, manufacturing and quality problems that can be solved using predictive, machine learning or AI algorithms
Help factory and internal teams to estimate proposed solution value gain and quantify solution impact post rollout
Define what data is required to create a solution and work with connectivity engineers , users to collect the data
Work on data preparation, data deep dive , help engineering, process and quality to understand the process/ machine behavior more closely using available data
Develop solution using predictive, machine learning, AI techniques that delivers value to factory
Deploy and monitor the solution
Identify key users and train them to create more data scientists in the factory over time
Create a AI roadmap for Nexperia BE sites
Be an innovation partner , connect with outside universities, thought leaders and help bring new solutions to Nexperia
What you will need
Graduate Engineer - preferably in Mechanical or Industrial engineering or computer science
Minimum 5-10 years of experience- spanning various exposure areas
Proven ability to work with multi cultural , multi location teams
Experience in large IT project implementation related to Supply Chain management, factory scheduling, big data data lake architectures is a plus
Proven track record of ability to ideate, develop unique solutions using data science
Good knowledge of the business vertical with prior experience in solving different use cases in the manufacturing or similar industry
Ability to bring cross industry learning to benefit the use cases aimed at improving manufacturing process at Nexperia
Problem Scoping/definition Skills:
Possess agility and awareness to identify value opportunities and create a business use case
Experience in problem scoping, solving, quantification
Ability to foresee and identify all right data required to solve the problem
Data Wrangling Skills:
Strong skill in data mining, data wrangling techniques for creating the required analytical dataset
Adaptive mindset to improvise on the data challenges and employ techniques to drive desired outcomes
Programming Skills:
Advanced working knowledge with Python
Big data programming platforms such as pyspark, SparkSQL, Spark ML, Spark Graph etc.
Hands-on experience in database query language such as Oracle-SQL
Visualization Skills
Experience of using visualization tools (Spotfire is a plus)
Good storytelling skills to present the data in simple and meaningful manner
Data Science Skills
Strong skill in data analysis techniques to generate finding and insights by means of exploratory data analysis
Good knowledge on Univariate/Multivariate analysis techniques to understand and derive hidden and meaningful pattern out of the data
Knowledge on right sampling techniques
Experience in working on dimensionality reduction
Ability to work with highly Imbalance/skewed data set and experience of implementing rare event modelling techniques
Experience in implementing statistical modelling techniques both Linear and Non-linear models
Experience of working with supervised and unsupervised machine learning modelling, primarily forecasting, clustering and classification techniques (Regression, Random Forest, SVM, XGBoost etc.)
Good hands-on experience with hyperparameter tuning, grid search and model accuracy measurement techniques
Knowledge in implementing right ensemble modelling techniques for better accuracy and outcome
Right implementation knowledge on Deep learning models including image and video processing
Minimum know-how of implementing Self-Learning AI models (Reinforcement Learning) and have capability leveraging in implementation of use cases
