THE POSITION
The purpose of the job is to ensure complete and accurate execution of dedicated steps with regard to financial closing and reporting for the assigned GBS countries in the region according to the agreed activity split between GBS Center Germany/Finance, GBS Center Manila and Operative Unit (OPU). The job holder guarantees compliance of accounting entries with regard to the applicable BI accounting rules in the context of the dedicated control activities. Thereby he/she takes care of General Ledger (GL) related country specific inquiries raised by OPU or other GBSC streams (1st level support).
Duties & Responsibilities:
.Perform and monitor the dedicated GL related closing activities for international GBS entities, particularly:
oCompilation of group reporting packages to headquarters as basis for group financial statements.
oPreparation of figures for local statutory financial statements (FS I)
.Perform the dedicated financial accounting and planning tasks for the assigned companies about:
oCompliance and plausibility checks
oAnalytical account reviews and reconciliation (accounting review procedures)
oDetermination and execution of month- and year-end postings
.Be the first point of contact in GBS for the local and regional accounting staff and support the business partners regarding all GL related requests within the area of responsibility (1st level support), keep communication with the local accounting key users concerning GL related topics on a regular basis.
.Ensure prompt settlement of assigned GL issues regarding evaluation, solution design and corrective actions (if necessary), including documentation and archiving of the respective issues.
.Ensure that all GL accounts within the GBSC country responsibility are reconciled and the respective account balances are provable ensure that all GL related documents and files are adequately archived in terms of completeness, form, and traceability.
.Act as support during regional external audits regarding year-end audit requirements of the dedicated entities
.Be the first point of contact for questions to GL related items of the assigned companies coordinate answers in cooperation with peers from OPUs, sub-ledgers and/or tax department.
.Take responsibility of and assist in defined topics, projects and/or working packages.
oPreparation and performance of internal and external trainings for GL topics
oPreparation and performance of internal and external meetings and workshops
oSupport projects (e.g., deployments)
Requirements:
.Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the financial accounting department of a large-scale enterprise, preferably, in a shared service set-up
.Deep knowledge in MS-Office and database applications (SAP)
.Analytical thinking, teamwork, and collaboration spirit
.Communication and interaction skills
.Good analytical and conceptual thinking
.Project-related experience
.Fluent English in reading, writing, and speaking
