Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Creatives and Brand Lead, the Creatives and Brand Specialist is responsible for the overall quality of design work produced by the creative services unit. This role needs to have a holistic understanding of the entire creative process, and recognize great copy, design, and fresh approaches to designing and promoting IRRI's research, products, and services, both internally and externally.
This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.
The health and welfare of our staff is our top priority. We are currently operating with the majority of our workforce working from home. This position will be remote for the foreseeable future and will require a stable internet connection.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage the creative process from concept to completion
Translate strategic institutional and marketing communication objectives into clear creative strategies and campaigns
Work closely with multidisciplinary communication pillars, particularly the strategic communication and engagement and stakeholder pillars to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of all creative products
Assist the Marketing Manager in designing and launching creative services that meet client needs and align with Full Cost Recovery (FCR) revenue projections
Advise the A&B Account Managers on how to the best package and cost Design Lab offerings for their accounts
Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met across all IRRI internal and external communication channels and initiatives
Support account managers in client pitches and proposals where creative direction apply
Oversee Design Lab profitability (FCR), deliverables, timelines, and budgets
Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing creating processes and recommending changes to other pillars
Lead point of contact for external creative vendors and suppliers
Provides final creative proofing for all design products
Provide creative input into communication plans or strategies that include design components
Design the framework of internal information sessions for design products that require internal buy-in or awareness prior to rollout
Update institutional brand guidelines document and ensure strict compliance among staff
Ensure all institutional branding templates are updated and provide clear guidance for staff on proper usage
Review work, troubleshoot, and design feedback mechanisms i.e. quarterly user feedback/experience survey forms, to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality creative products
Create excitement and sustained interest for Design Lab products by maintaining visibility and awareness of it across all internal communication channels
Manage client feedback, ensure products are up to par, and meet client satisfaction
Ensure product updates are consistently reflected on the Design Lab online shop
Assist the Marketing Manager in initiating and launching Design Lab promos and offerings
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communication with a major in science or instructional
At least 4 years of relevant work experience in graphic design and branding
Skills Required
Mandatory
Intermediate-Advanced level technical knowledge of Adobe Creative applications, institutional branding, and basic understanding of UI/UX design
Preferred
Intermediate to Advanced understanding of interactive media and new digital presentation tools or applications
