Responsibilities:
Under general supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting and applying continuous improvement tools and concepts, perform a variety of accounting functions, including preparation and posting of entries to general ledgers, reconciling of accounts, and preparation of assigned schedules and reports.
Generate reports and calculate various customer rebates, royalties and customer owned proposed payments.
Obtain multiple department approvals and generate payment requests for approval as necessary.
Process sales partners portion of such payments and monitor general ledger balances to ensure proper accruals are in place.
Participate in the financial closing process through updating and maintaining various recurring journal entries monitoring accounts to ensure accuracy.
Other activities such as processing sales representative charges and payments, reconciliations of coupon and gift certificates and other account reconciliations as needed.
Responsibilities will include other related departmental functions such as ad hoc analysis and reporting, data entry and system conversion tasks.
Ability to work independently and presentation of findings to the Director of Financial Reporting, other members of the finance staff or other areas within the organization is required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Independent Action:
Under general supervision, function in accordance with established accounting procedures and practices,referring to the Sr. Accountant or Director of Financial Reporting for clarification regarding procedures and for assistance with unusual accounting functions.
Requirements:
Graduate of Bachelors degree in Accounting or the equivalent and knowledge with operation of computerized accounting systems.
Excellent written and oral communications are a necessary skill set.
The qualified candidate will be a Go Getter with a Can-do attitude.
Must be willing to dig into details and recommend and implement solutions.
Minimum of two years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience in a computerized accounting environment.
Significant experience using Excel and Word is required.
