Job Description
Assist Head Chef: Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan menus, develop new recipes, and create innovative dishes that meet customer expectations and reflect seasonal availability.
Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Staff Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. Provide constructive feedback and support to encourage professional growth.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to maximize profitability while minimizing waste. Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the culinary team, as well as front-of-house staff, to ensure smooth coordination of operations and exceptional customer service.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Enforce kitchen policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, cleanliness standards, and company protocols. Lead by example and promote a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Bachelor's / College Degree holder in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management or similar fields.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
Proven experience as a Chef Sous or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong culinary skills and a passion for food and cooking.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
