Software Test Automation Engineer
The Test Automation Engineer is a core role in our quality assurance strategy of continuous testing. The main objective of this position is to report bugs in the software earlier in the development process and avoid defect leakage to production. Achieving success in this position means that this automation engineer is collaborating with both the SQA and Dev teams to increase the coverage of tests, maintain the test infrastructure up and running, and keep the existing tests up and running.
Reports To: The Software Test Automation Engineer will report to the Director of Software Development.
Responsibilities and Duties
Monitor the execution of test scripts and assess failures in test run results, assuring that bugs are reported to developers and addressed by them.
Develop and maintain UI and API automated regression tests written in Python.
Develop and maintain the Test Harness and other support tools written in Python.
Develop and maintain Jenkins scripted pipelines written in Groovy.
Participate in the team ceremonies like Scrum Calls and Sprint Planning sessions.
Raise test scenarios and write them as Gherkin feature files.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
3 or more years of working experience with test automation using Selenium and Page Objects design pattern.
Strong knowledge of REST API testing.
Experience with Object-Oriented Programming preferably using Python.
Basic knowledge of Jenkins scripted pipelines.
Experience with Agile techniques.
Experience with git platforms like GitHub, GitLab or Gitea.
Good spoken communication skills.
Experience with manual testing processes.
Nice to Have:
Basic knowledge in API development using Flask.
Experience with non-functional testing (e.g.: performance and load testing, security testing, etc.).
Familiarity with Linux operating system.
CTFL certification or higher.
