Job Description:
We are looking for skilled software engineers who will be responsible for working on projects that are currently being developed on by our company. Duties will include but are not limited to developing and directing software system validation and testing methods, as well as directing our software programming initiatives. You will also be working closely with clients and cross-functional departments to communicate project status and proposals.
A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or another related field is required. You will also need at least five to seven years of software engineering or software development experience, preferably in a related field to be successful in this role.
Requirements
5 + Years of Ruby and Rails or significantly similar language and platforms.
Willingness to learn from and share knowledge with the rest of the team.
Solid understanding of standard programming techniques.
Material experience writing, (unit) testing, debugging, deploying, and maintaining web-based applications.
Confidence using software version control systems.
Awareness of AWS product offerings and deployment mechanisms.
Understanding of software development processes and methods including Agile/Lean values and principles.
Understanding of and experience with different data storage mechanisms, including RDBMS (specifically PostgreSQL) and key/value cache (specifically Redis).
Experience with message-based systems (message bus, message streaming, pub/sub, etc.).
Knowledge of GraphQL-based or RESTful API usage and/or design.
Experience with GIS software (PostGIS, shapefiles, KML, MapServer, OpenLayers, Google Maps Platform).
Experience with data analytics and reporting systems.
Experience working with identity platforms like Okta and Auth0
Experience in IoT development.
GPS device or other embedded systems/hardware background.
Experience with any of the following: Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Resque, RESTful services, GraphQL.
