RESPONSIBILITIES POSITION SUMMARY The Social Media Writer extends the presence of the ABS-CBN News brand to social media platforms by creating and producing timely, relevant and engaging content that adheres to the ABS-CBN News brand of ethical, RESPONSIBILITIES POSITION SUMMARY The Social Media Writer extends the presence of the ABS-CBN News brand to social media platforms by creating and producing timely, relevant and engaging content that adheres to the ABS-CBN News brand of ethical, world-class, and reliable journalism. They also assist in the execution of the editorial agenda of ABS-CBN News by breaking news on official social media accounts, writing captions for posts, publishing videos on social, monitoring news channels and sources and writing articles and producing multimedia content as assigned by senior news editors. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Searches, gathers, creates, writes, packages and publishes content for digital platforms Helps grow and engage online communities by monitoring and maintaining social media accounts across various news ecosystems Ensures that the digital presence of Broadcast programs (microsites and other related products) are updated with the latest texts, videos, and content from the mother TV news program of the microsite Optimizes the reach of ABS-CBN News content by publishing posts in social media accounts in a timely and engaging manner Helps assure quality of content by giving each article a thorough check prior to social media promotion. REQUIREMENTS Have a nose for news and be interested in a wide array of topics Have excellent writing (English and Filipino) and interviewing skills Be comfortable/skilled in gathering info in multimedia (not only text, but also video, audio) Be comfortable/skilled not only in text, but also in video, graphics, chats, and other multimedia presentations Be familiar with online platforms. Preferably has presence in all social media properties. Preference will be given to candidates who APPLY ONLINE.
