SKILLED INTRUSION ALARM / CCTV TECHNICIAN
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Install, troubleshoot, program, and maintain intrusion alarm and CCTV.
Travel to the job site and arrive on time, in professional attire commensurate with the assigned work, with all safety gear, required tools, and parts.
Diagnose system issues and advise customer of planned repair options, following established procedure regarding price, payment terms, and any required paperwork prior to work start.
Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required.
Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.
Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
Ability to program panels from different brands and manufacturers.
Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components.
Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.
Maintain parts inventory.
Sometimes perform small sales while on-site servicing client's alarm.
Provide customer training in the operation and functionality of system equipment. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
Complete service tickets in a timely manner for invoicing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least  1 year as a skilled technician, advantage if 2 years.
Knowledge of Paradox, Ajax, trikdis, jablotron, Satel, DSC, DMP, Honeywell, Alarm.com, Teleguard an advantage
Must have extensive knowledge in installation procedures, troubleshooting, and maintenance in structured wiring systems, alarm system installation and programming, CCTV system wiring.

Background Check
Police and NBI Clearance
Drug test (to follow later on if not available or expired)
Valid Drivers License an advantage
