The Role
CodingChiefs is hiring a full-time Lead Shopify Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Shopify development, including building custom themes and features from scratch along with modifications to existing elements and expert level knowledge of HTML, CSS/SCSS & JavaScript , and conversion rate optimization for landing pages.
The Duties and responsibilities:
Design and development for Shopify including: web design, front-end development, UX strategy, and conversion optimization.
Develops and oversees implementation of e-commerce websites and applications; coordinates site and application functionality
Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves site and application issues; recommends and implements preventive measures to avoid future problems.
Maintains knowledge of emerging technology and best practices in website and application design and development.
Generate new ideas to help improve user experience, mobile experience, and conversion rates
Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
3+ years of experience developing within the Shopify and Shopify Plus platforms
7+ years of experience in front-end technologies including, but not limited to, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, SASS, XML
Mastery of Shopify Liquid template language
Experience with Shopify Slate and Theme Kit
Good knowledge of CSS preprocessors: SCSS is preferred.
Extremely sharp, fast working, knowledgeable web developer/designer
Shopify development experience, including building custom themes and features from scratch as well as modifications to existing elements
Superb troubleshooting & debugging skills
Interest in staying current and applying the most current best practices
Has a true passion for design and technology
Ability to write clean, readable code and tests
A disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
Positive attitude, high energy, and love for broadening web development skill set
Team player with ability to work within a highly collaborative company
Deep understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
Agile/Scrum experience is desired.
Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
Must possess at least a Bachelor's degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Mathematics, Science & Technology or equivalent
