Description
1. Follows specifications in approved Engineering plans as directed by Shipfitting Leadman.
2. Prepares tool and equipment such as torch, mason, manual and auto-cutting machine, plum bob, hydraulic and hand tools to be used in a particular work.
3. Lays out and fabricates structural parts such as plates and frames to be weld; and braces them in position within hull of ship for riveting or welding.
4. Marks cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge to specify the exact measurement of plates in the assembly of ship.
5. Shapes and cuts plates to the specified measurement using hand tools, manual and auto-cutting machines and power saws.
6. Rolls, bends, flanges plates and other heavy materials using plate rolls and bending brakes to shape up the part of the vessel.
7. Crops out defects in work using various technologies, tools and equipment to show the quality of the work done and ensure the safety of workers.
8. Trims all weldments prior to fit up works.
9. Attends Take Five (5) Meetings daily to get work instructions and reminders to do the job safely.
10. Performs housekeeping chores after fit up works by cleaning the area from wastes, welding buts to avoid accidents
11. Follows instructions in compliance with company's policies on wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and help ensure zero accident and safe work environment.
12. Performs other functions which may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
