Job Overview
Shift Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing on-site activities during designated shifts. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of operations, maintaining a high standard of safety, and addressing any technical challenges that may arise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day construction activities during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
Monitor work progress, addressing issues promptly to maintain project timelines.
Provide technical guidance to on-site teams, including contractors and subcontractors, to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during project activities.
Enforce and promote a strong safety culture on the site.
Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
Collaborate with other Shift Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to facilitate seamless transitions between shifts and ensure continuity of construction operations.
Communicate effectively with team members and report progress to superiors.
Assist in the preparation of shift turnover reports for effective communication between shifts.
Act as a point of contact during emergencies or unexpected incidents, coordinating responses to ensure the safety of personnel and protection of property.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in a construction environment, with a focus on on-site supervision.
Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety protocols.
