DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches the appropriate sewing techniques for various fabrics and types of garments that should be utilized.
Instructs workers to tend or operate knitting, looping, and sewing machines, using knowledge of machine function and process.
Demonstrates methods of cleaning, threading, replacing needles, changing guides, lubricating, tension adjusting, and operating machines depending on the sewing technique being used.
Exhibits different sewing techniques such as felling, tacking, basting, embroidery, hand knitting, and looping.
Trains workers in measuring and aligning parts, fasteners, or trimmings, following seams, edges, or markings on parts on both hand and machine sewing.
Discusses tension, stitch length adjustments, and other types of stitches.
Provides instructions on the appropriate seam finishes and hemming procedures for particular fabrics and garments.
May sew or loop samples to workers in order to demonstrate the steps in different sewing techniques.
Records production of worker to determine progress according to training schedule.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High school/Vocational course graduate.
At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Knowledgeable in different kinds of sewing techniques, stitches, fabrics and materials, sewing equipment and operations.
Has a sense of responsibility.
A team player, mature, responsible, results-oriented and can perform well under pressure.
