Responsibilities
The Senior US Tax Accountant will work across the business to carry out the following responsibilities:
Conduct regular bank reconciliations for multiple clients and help optimize cash management whenever possible
Reconcile credit cards, accounts receivable, and other payment gateways while utilizing applications such as (e.g. Hubdoc, KeyPay and Dext)
Responsible for driving the whole month-end tasks such as EOM closing, P&L analysis and reporting, BS reconciliation, KPI and Cash flow reporting, and producing financial reports on an entity and consolidated level
Work on ad hoc reconciliation tasks for new clients and bring their books up to date
Assist with the preparation of monthly/semi-annual/annual budgets and cash flow forecasts
Responsible for the preparation of financial reports, tax returns, VAT, and client tax reports as necessary
Manage relations with clients, customers, vendors, and other key business partners
Review returns from other team members, and act as liaison internally between accounting and tax teams
Assist in refining tax procedures through proactive and continuous learning and development
Preparing tax filings related to W2s/W9s/1099s/3921s/1040s/W9s/1120s/1065s, etc.
Preparing tax returns for partnerships, S or C corporations, and individuals
Preparing Tax Projections and evaluating for basic tax planning opportunities
Requires a high level of technical knowledge in accounting and US taxation and have the ability to finalize work for clients
Working with clients' other external parties, such as auditors and tax advisors to provide necessary support during auditing and year-end tax filing
Requirements
In order to carry out the aforementioned responsibilities, the Senior US Tax Accountant role requires:
Must be a CPA with at least 2-3 years US Tax Preparation experience
At least 5 years of experience in US accounting practice - preferably someone who worked in a large accounting firm
The candidate must have high proficiency in QuickBooks
The candidate must be tech-savvy in order to perform responsibilities effectively
Candidates having experience with (e.g. Thompson Reuters) or the related tools are highly preferred
Should have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
With proven skills and experience in tax planning and preparation
With proven skills and experience in delivering full month-end close including P&L, BS and Cash flow reporting
The candidate must be resourceful, with a strong proven ability in taking down process notes, and must operate with a high degree of independence and reliability
Lastly, to realize the responsibilities of the role, good character and an effective working attitude are a must to ensure strong attention to detail, time management, and accounting administration skills
Willing to work on a night shift (9PM -6AM PHT)
