1. Provide significant in-depth knowledge and product design experience.
2. Contribute to the development of features and designs for future flood control solutions.
3. Utilize prior expertise to involve global partners, suppliers, and academia to leverage invention and create production-ready innovations.
4. Develop technical specifications and supplier documentation for new technologies.
5. Perform design analysis and product evaluations for future technology.
6. Responsible for rapid prototyping, specifying requirements and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing, and control of features, as well as a high level of independent judgment.
7. Provide technical expertise of the product features to personnel supporting the assigned project.
8. Show solid judgment and build consensus, particularly in the face of competing design requirements.
9. Research concept ideas using mathematical modeling to work out whether new developments and innovations would work and be cost-effective.
10. Produce design ideas, based on research, into technical plans for prototypes using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-assisted engineering (CAE) software.
11. Analyze the design proposals and the technical information in order to identify the issues arising during product development, defining and implementing adequate solutions in order to reach a feasible proposal with a high form and aesthetic quality.
12. Make and track design changes on existing products in conjunction with the Engineer team.
13. Identifies problems and actively devises appropriate innovative solutions to unique problems.
14. Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
15. Lead and support technical staff and/or junior engineers. Provides guidance and support to other team members. Train both team and broader organization members.
16. Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients.
17. Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.
18. Represent the work team at reviews and cross-organizational team meetings.
19. Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers.
20. Undertake continuous training and development to maintain and further develop expertise and stay ahead of technological developments.
