Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is recruiting a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer to join our team in Manila. The project will run over a five - year period with a possible two - year extension. Wood has many years of experience in carrying such projects all over the world and it is our intention to bring our world class systems to this project.
Successful applicants will be responsible for the execution and delivery of the Materials Engineering. This will include the use of relevant software, material selection, fracture mechanics and corrosion analysis. This is an end to end rejuvenation scope and as such, will involve interfacing with other disciplines like, planning, construction, procurement, HVEC and client operations.
The Senior Pipe Stress Engineer will be responsible to provide stress analysis advice for new projects and operations support to Asset Units.

Skills / Qualifications
Execute all Pipe Stress Engineering activities
Advise directions and plans associated with Piping / Equipment Layout issues as related to pipe stress analysis issues
Select and adequately support piping systems from a standard library of Pipe Supports
Generate and control a library of special pipe supports
Assist and advise on the design of non-standard type pipe supports
Co-ordinate and action co-operation between various Engineering Disciplines and Vendors in relation to imposed piping loadings
Review vendor package and equipment drawings for compliance with the project specifications
Generate Specifications and Standards Design Instructions associated with Piping Engineering
Develop and produce Technical Work Practices
Assist the Lead Piping Engineer in areas related to Piping Stress Engineering productivity
Manages design man hours within approved budgets & registers changes.
Ensures that all team members are aware of their Core Values.
Estimate man-hours and resource requirement for new project based on BFD document
Monitor and progress work fronts in specifically assigned areas
Qualifications (Essential):
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
10 years of experience working as a Piping Stress Engineer on EPC projects
Experience will include a working knowledge of the industry codes including B31.3, B16.5, NEMA, (API 610, 618, 661, and 560), etc
Candidates must have familiarity with the following software: Caesar II; WRC 107/297; Nozzle Pro; AVEVA E3D, Naviswork Review; and Bluebeam Pdf Writer or Adobe Pdf
Skilled in the interpretation and application of International, National, Group & Local Standards, Codes of Practice, Specifications and Guidelines relating to pipe stress and support philosophy
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to persuade a multi - disciplinary team of the importance of a fundamental stress analysis and sound support methodology and strategy
Understands all phases of project maturation process and the discipline inputs required for each
Good communication, networking, collaboration, and well-developed team-working skills
Skilled in the coaching of discipline staff
Qualifications (Preferred):
Brownfield rejuvenation
Member of a recognized institution and registered Professional Engineer / Chartered Engineer
Worked in an EPC environment
Working knowledge of Shell's DEP s
