• Bachelor's degree holder, preferably in Accountancy or any Finance-related course
• 10+ years' experience of which 3-5 years in a Senior Management role in an international Credit Control environment and working on multiple systems.
• Extended knowledge in O2C, Global Credit management, Global treasury management, clear finance system knowledge and advanced end to end knowledge of processes and project management, finance, liquidity forecasting and sales.
• Prior people management experience in a Multinational environment where the outsources/ captive model is in place is essential.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance is very desirable.
• Strong leader with clear vision, advanced analytical skills.
• Self-starter who challenges the status quo and initiates and leads change
• Ability to understand, set and influence strategic plans and visions, identify threats and opportunities.
• Good political awareness and an excellent communicator at all levels of seniority. Allocate resources where the benefit for Elsevier is the highest.
• Must possess strong sense of ownership while at the same time delegating tasks towards direct reports.
• Dynamic, proactive problem solver, innovative, cultural awareness, customer focused, achievement oriented, excellent negotiation skills.
• Up to date with industry and professional changes and market trends, as well as country trends including boycott and other governmental regulations.
• Drive the performance of the dept. at world class level based on regular external benchmarking studies.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
