Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Mobile Developer - Android/Tizen is expected to maintain the client's wearables and facilitate a move from Xamarin to native apps for our Solo product.
The other responsibilities of the Senior Mobile Developer - Android/Tizen are:
- Support and enhance existing Xamarin mobile applications;
- Migrate Xamarin applications to Android native;
- Innovation through experimentation for Tizen and Android features with the UX and product teams;
- Work with iOS, web and API developers to create simple solutions to complex problems
The Senior Mobile Developer - Android/Tizen must be someone who can add to the diversity of thought in the client's team and is able to interact with diverse team members and stakeholders. The Senior Mobile Developer - Android/Tizen must be self-motivated and is always looking for ways to improve.
Required Experience
- Experience developing OO Kotlin Android native apps;
- Exposure to Xamarin;
A Successful Candidate must have
- Innovation through experimentation mindset;
- Good understanding of wearable and mobile device limitations (battery life, connectivity issues etc).
Experience Advantage
- Experience developing Tizen applications and watch faces;
- Experience developing Xamarin applications;
- Battery use optimisation skills (especially on wearable devices);
- Design skills for request queuing and caching for unreliable connectivity;
- Understanding release processes for application stores (Google Play, Samsung Store etc);
- Exposure to Wear OS and Google Assistant (these are on the roadmap);
- Implementation and management of CI/CD pipeline and automated UI/UX testing;
- Experience developing Cordova applications
- Experience developing C++ applications (ideally for Tizen)
