OurWaterbusiness group is looking for experienced Senior MechanicalEngineertojoin our workshare team in supporting New Zealand office in some of theactivities.
This role focuses on strengthening 3 water design capabilities and developing business opportunities. The role requires technical leadership, coaching and mentoring our people whilst offering innovative solutions for our internal, existing and new clients across the local government and private sectors.
The key focus areas of the role will include:
Develop good business relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure required project outcomes are met and client satisfaction is maintained at a high standard
Develop new and repeat business, including preparation of proposals and bids for projects
Provide project management for, investigation, design and implementation stages of a range of projects involving water supply, wastewater, stormwater and multidisciplinary projects
Provide guidance to junior design engineers on projects and be able to train and mentor them
Provide technical input and leadership to projects. Including review QA/QC of project deliverables
Keep knowledge and competencies current, guide staff and contribute to GHD Global Knowledge Base
Deliver high quality reports, correspondence and other deliverables, with appropriate checks and reviews
Investigate water, wastewater and stormwater options and feasibility assessments. Undertake designs and assist with construction monitoring and construction management
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years experience in a water/wastewater engineering role
Detailed design of mechanical systems, and coordination of systems into multi-discipline projects
Modelling/CAD (Revit/AutoCAD) experience/knowledge, either hands-on or in a leadership/coordination role
Ability to think laterally in delivering project solutions
Project Management experience, including management of financials, budget etc.
An understanding of local government processes and practices
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to liaise with clients successfully
