At least Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Communications, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
or relevant working experience
Manage manufacturing engineering support across different Dyson products.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
At least 5 years of relevant experience
Accountabilities:- responsibilities/tasks
NPI / Project Management
o Ensure that our products are well understood, and processes are robustly designed for mass
manufacturing.
o New Technology readiness and process integration / ramp up of future products and product /
technology transfer to the CM
o Define equipment specification and work with equipment maker to develop and install equipment
o Responsible for process integration and support of product/technology transfers
o Drive integration and ramp-up of new technologies into production
o Perform optimization and adaptation of process modules to optimize yield, cost and quality
o Analyse technical problems and find solutions
o Monitor equipment fabrication progress and ensure equipment are ready and on time
o To work with Global ME and RDD teams to define process flow for new product
o To conduct MTM analysis on new product to determine assembly time and cost
o To develop new / revise current test methods to improve test effectiveness, efficiency and cycle times
o To be actively involved in early product design development stage and produce a robust and
efficient test package (time plan, method, tester and facility).
o To define tester specifications and work with respective design engineers to qualify tester
Sustaining:
o Support Contract Manufacturing Operations through new line set-up, capacity uplifts, process and
equipment effectiveness improvements and other relevant manufacturing engineering activities
o Support ongoing production needs with process and PE development and improvements
o Support production in resolving quality issues and equipment downtimes
o Drive CM implementation of Calibration, Repair and Preventive maintenance of Dyson consigned
equipment
o Perform optimization and adaptation of process modules to optimize yield, cost and quality
Leadership:
o Drive development of CM Manufacturing Engineering team to support production needs, process
improvements and new process / production line set-ups
KEY Skills / Experience required:
At least a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or
equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing Engineering support experience related to electromechanical products with primary roles in assembly line equipment set-up, installation and buy-off
Demonstrate Project Management Skills. PMP certification a plus
Demonstrate a good understanding of the fundamentals of equipment, process and test Engineering.
In depth Process and Manufacturing Engineering knowledge: DFx / DFM tools, PFMEA and Control Plan
development, MSA, MTM1/2, Lean Six-sigma
Demonstrate a thorough approach to reasoning and problem solving
Demonstrate ability to work proactively, to identify issues and propose better solutions.
Proficiency in Minitab, 3D CAD, Team Center, Labview is an advantage.
Ability to plan ahead, prioritise tasks and coordinate with the work of others.
Good at communicating at all levels.
A well-rounded mix of experimental, theoretical and design skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Program management capability in a fast pace and ever-changing environment
Mechanical background with at least 5 years of working experience in automated production is a plus
