SUMMARY OF ROLE
As a Linux and Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for cloud architecture, configuration, deployment and site reliability engineering for Maxeon cloud environment and Linux production services. We're looking for passionate engineers that enjoy partnering with software engineering teams to build and maintain automation to accelerate cloud adoption. You will be asked to leverage your understanding of public cloud architectural design and Linux skill to design and implement solutions that are secure, scalable and operationally sound.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following (other duties may be assigned):
-Architect, build and maintain on premise and/or cloud infrastructure to support team and customer initiatives.
-Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)
-Seeks opportunities for system improvement with a focus on continuous improvement of system functionality, efficiency and availability.
-Work with Information Security Teams to maintain security requirements for operation of Linux systems.
-Perform routine equipment checks, preventative maintenance and upgrades.
-Maintain up to date documentation of designs/configurations.
-Work with other service providers to support areas of common interest
-Complies at all times with the Environment, Health and Safety and company manufacturing standards, rules and regulations.
-Perform other duties that may be assigned.
-On-call support may be required.
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements
-Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
-Experience working within Linux distributions such as Oracle, RedHat or Suse with relevant certification.
-Very strong problem-solving skills, with proven ability to analyze and determine root cause and resolution for complex problems
-Working knowledge of database technologies (Oracle clustering and ASM, MondoDB and Mysql)
-Experience with virtualization platform such as VMware
-Experience with public clouds such as AWS and Azure (preferably with AWS Solution Architect certification)
-Experience with Python , Perl or Shell scripting
-Advanced knowledge of systems security practices (CISSP certification will be advantage)
-Working knowledge with SAN/NAS
