Job Summary:
Responsible for the financial health of the company. Producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research. Guiding senior executives in making sound business decisions in the long and short-term financial plans.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to maintain accounting records and submit accurate and timely financial statements and reports
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate/overhead cost allocation
Ensure that all financial and regulatory reporting deadlines are met
Ensure accurate and timely computation of taxes and preparation of tax returns according to tax regulations
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits
Oversee the maintenance of accurate inventory records
Support budget and forecasting activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Supervise a team of finance professionals and is responsible to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide training and development to staff as needed.
Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues
Work with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA required
Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in accounting, reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis. Experience in the retail industry a plus.
Strong leadership skills required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Oracle Financial Systems
Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Must be a self-starter, able to prioritize tasks, and have the ability to multi-task and work independently
Effective communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
