Description :
A Senior Failure Analysis Engineer must have an ability to use strong analytical skills and to drive cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
The candidate will support failure analysis and root cause investigation of devices from different Product families of CPLD, FPGA, and Mixed-signal products in a variety of package types.
Drive and track root cause investigation with Assemby/Test operations, Applications, Product Development and Silicon/Package Design from the reliability qualification, reliability monitoring, yield improvement and customer returns analysis performed.
Typical activities include
Ownership of the analysis for customer returns, report writing and coordination with the appropriate functional team.
Perform electrical failure analysis (EFA) and physical failure analysis (PFA) including Logic Programming, Bench DC/AC Testing, Automated Test Equipment Test/analysis, use of common analysis tools like X-ray, SAT/CSAM, SEM, and experience in using and/or analyzing results of defect localization tools like EMMI.
Understand and debug test patterns, software test tools and create methodologies for automation for Failure Analysis and Fault Isolation based on IEEE 1149.X and other available Design for Test (DFT) methodologies.
Create projects to drive continuous improvement of the FA processes.
Transfer and co-develop FA readiness from the development team.
Requirements:
Ten (10) to 15 years as individual contributor in product, test, quality or reliability engineering for semiconductors.
BS/MS Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
Ability to independently find solutions to complex, ill-defined problems.
Must be able to multi-task. Must be detail-oriented.
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple groups.
Strong PC and MS Office skills.
Strong understanding of CMOS logic, and of analog circuits is a plus
Understanding of CPLD's, FPGA's or products of similar complexity.
Working understanding of submicron CMOS processing.
Experience with modern Automated Test Equipment.
Experience with failure analysis and bench-level testing.
Experience with programmable logic is desired.
Working understanding of Non-Volatile cell voltage margins (Flash or EEprom) is desired.
Experience with WAT/etest, wafer sort, package assembly, final test (i.e. full backend IC process) is desired.
Experience in programming, problem solving or electronics troubleshooting/debugging is desired.
Education : Bachelors Science
Experience : 10 years: individual contributor in product, test, quality or reliability engineering for semiconductors
