A SOC Analyst I will be able to complete basic review of alerts and determine if they fit the standard for escalation defined by the procedures of the given tool. A SOC Analyst I will have a basic understanding of the network layout and the basic functionality of the tools in use. SOC Analyst I will be able to create basic reports as described by their seniors and managers:
Data Loss Prevention alert review
Security Log review
Creating basic metric reports
Data Visualization
Email Security Alert review
Vulnerability Management basics
Other responsibilities as assigned
Technical Understanding
Basic understanding of the OSI model
Basic Security Best Practices
Basic Windows Knowledge
Required Skills
-A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work/military experience.
-Technical Understanding
-Data Loss Prevention alert review
-Security Log review
-Creating basic metric reports
-Data Visualization
-Email Security Alert review
-Vulnerability Management basics
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
