The Design Evaluation Engineer will be responsible for a specific optical communication module products, automotive battery management, healthcare product or group of products. He/she will help develop and designs evaluation boards and/or software for use on new product development task. The engineer will work within a cross-discipline team to efficiently bring new and innovative products to China market. Roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to - Develop and design evaluation boards and reference designs for optical controllers, automotive BMS(battery management systems) and healthcare-vital signs monitoring. Debug and verify hardware designs. Develop and implement methodologies to be used in the testing and debug of evaluation boards. Responsible for component selection, schematic capture, and hardware released through hardware life cycle management. Assist in the debug and verification of hardware designs through software development. This may involve both FPGA code development, and GUI development. Manages qualification and reliability activities of products in development prior to release. Prepare documentation including user guides for software. The ideal candidate would have experience in optical communications, analog to digital converters, analog circuits, automotive power, semiconductor IC processes. Exposure in VSM(vital sign monitoring) and healthcare products is also beneficial. Qualifications - External Assumes BS or MS degree in EE or ECE or equivalent relevant experience. Typically requires 3 - 5+ years related and progressive experience. Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, familiarity with Cadence layout tools is a plus Experience with PCB debug and troubleshooting, repair and rebuild. Experience with GUI development, either LabVIEW or Python experience necessary, both is a plus. Experience with FPGA programming and Verilog/SystemVerilog, VHDL programming skills is a plus. Experience with oscilloscopes, arbitrary waveform generators, digital multimeters, and other assorted measurement tools. Independent with initiative, good analytical skill and able to work under minimum supervisor. Key Attributes: Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work to aggressive schedules. Strong analytical skills. Ability to draw conclusions from complex data sets and summarize and present at a high level. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work on large multi-discipline development teams. Experience with high level software languages. Useful examples include C, Microsoft VBA, National Instruments LabVIEW, Python and Matlab. Experience with medical products, biomedical engineering and system design practices is beneficial. For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
