The successful candidate will join our Wellbeing team in the Secondary school to provide counselling within the Secondary School to students experiencing psychological, social, behavioural or emotional difficulties. The role is predominately a secondary school position however from time to time the Counsellor expertise may be required in the ELC and Primary school to support the Leadership and Well-being teams.
Essential to the role are
Qualification in a relevant disciplinary
Member of the Child Protection team
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience working with or having a good understanding of the students and children aged 6-18
A genuine passion for working with school-aged students
Excellent written and communication skills
Understanding the religious and cultural context in the region
Ability to give attention to detail as in record keeping and careful follow up
To be professional with high ethics when working with staff, students and their families
Attributes

Experience working in schools
Experience working in cultural and religious diverse communities
ability to build rapport and trust and communicate effectively with students
Strong planning and organisational skills
