As the Data Specialist (SAP Master Data Specialist - Data Governance), you will understand the importance of data quality to business operations and will strive to create and maintain every piece of master data in line with our quality standards. Act As the Data Specialist (SAP Master Data Specialist - Data Governance), you will understand the importance of data quality to business operations and will strive to create and maintain every piece of master data in line with our quality standards. Activities will include responding to business requests to create or maintain master data according to our policies & procedures and carrying out master data cleansing activities to improve the overall accuracy and quality of our master data. Master data objects you may work with include Customer, Vendor, Materials, and Finance within the SAP ERP ecosystem and connected downstream systems including SalesForce, Service Now, Assure, ITSM, Changepoint, Siebel and OpenAir. You are great at: Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness. Understanding operational Customer and/or Vendor master data in SAP. Adhering to the policies and procedures that facilitate data creation, maintenance and validation with an understanding of the impact that it has on cross-functional business units. Initiating and carrying out data cleansing activities. Identifying and resolving issues that impact data through root cause analysis What it takes: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and business-related work experience totaling to 3-5 years. 2+ years' experience working with SAP or a similar ERP for maintaining master data, OR, work experience within the Orders to Cash (O2C) or Procure to Pay (P2P) business functions with an understanding of how master data affects those business functions. Experience using Excel to perform data operations, e.g. working with data types, vlookups, pivot tables, etc. Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge or experience using any one of SalesForce, ITSM, Assure, Siebel, Changepoint, OpenAir, or cloud biller systems is an asset. Should have a good understanding of finance business processes. With the ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish multiple tasks, both as part of a team and independently. Should be able to write detailed documentation including Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids, Business Requirements, etc. A high standard for work ethic and quality is required.
