Job Description:
• Conducts interview of applicants for Safety positions, screens and recommends hiring of qualified applicants.
• Identifies training needs and coordinates training plans of staff with HR through periodic training needs survey or thru results of performance evaluation.
• Reviews and monitors required periodic activity reports on safety and health for submission to SMK-PH management & concerned government agencies.
• Supervises, monitors and evaluates the Safety Officers in the performance of their work.
• Plans, implements, monitors and evaluates Health and Safety orientation and training programs for management staff, contractors and employees.
• Formulates, amends, implements & monitors safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Maintains and periodically reviews the company's Emergency Preparedness program and team composition through company-wide training/orientation and programs/activities.
• Implements and monitors employees' compliance or non-compliance to set company standards and guidelines affecting health and safety program implementation.
• Establishes, reviews and ensures compliance to legal requirements and safety standards and coordinates with PCO and concerned department/s in the selection/purchase of PPE's, machine/equipment and services for operational requirements.
• Ensures regular inspection/checking and monitoring of fire extinguishers, alarms/paging system, emergency equipment, and other safety equipment and documents the same using standard check sheets.
• Participates in the maintenance and update of requirements and reports concerning ISO IATF/QMS/EMS and customer audits.
• Facilitates accident/incident investigations, reports job hazards/risks and ensures accurate and prompt documentation/reporting of all events to the management, concerned departments as may be required by other departments and the management.
• Reviews the accuracy of presentation material content and presents the same in the quarterly Management Review.
• Reviews safety reports and suggestions submitted by Safety Officers or by other departments for evaluation & implementation.
• Facilitates/Conducts Central Safety Committee and Safety Coordination meetings and ensures recording of minutes.
