SAFETY OFFICER
 
Job Responsibilities:
Supports the development of Occupational, Health and Safety (OMS) policies and programs.
Advises and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
Conducts risk assessment and enforces preventative measures.
Reviews existing policies and measures and update them according to legislation.
Initiates and organizes OHS training of employees and executives.
Inspects premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (ex. not using protective equipment).
Oversees installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
Records and investigates incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering field.
Must have personal motorcycle.
With COSH & BOSH certificate.
In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OSHA/EPA) and safety procedures.
Minimum of two (2) year experience as Safety Officer. Preferably in construction industry.
Knowledgeable in MS Office.
Strong sense of time management and self-improvement.
Able to perform productively while under pressure.
Able to take prompt action to accomplish objectives and achieve goals beyond what is required.
