SAFETY OFFICER
 
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop and enforce a comprehensive Safety Management System for the solar plant.
Ensure adherence to local, national, and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Conduct regular site inspections and hazard identification, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Investigate accidents and incidents, report findings, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and provide ongoing safety training for employees and contractors.
Develop, maintain, and test emergency response plans, ensuring that all staff are aware of procedures.
Maintain accurate safety records, including risk assessments, training logs, incident reports, and inspection reports.
Perform regular safety audits, inspections, and risk
assessments to identify potential hazards..
Monitor and ensure the correct use of PPE by all staff and contractors on-site.
Ct as a liaison between management, workers, and regulatory authorities regarding health and safety concerns.
Ensure the plant follows environmental safety measures related to solar panel handling, maintenance, and waste disposal.
Promote a proactive safety culture across the solar plant workforce.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
Courses or training related to leadership and supervision can be an asset.
Safety Officer 2 is advantage
Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly related to renewable energy installations, electrical systems, and high-risk work environments.
Skills:
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills; ability to lead safety training and inspections.
Experience:
At least 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer, ideally in a renewable energy or construction environment.
