Our full technology stack includes a Rails/PostgreSQL backend and ASP.NET web services running on AWS, a React web client, and a range of mobile clients (iOS, Windows, Android). We are using Ruby 2.5 and Rails 5.2. We're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to help us continue to enhance our Rails backend. Our current emphasis is on better integration with our other products to provide a seamless experience throughout the entire product suite. This will likely include extending our APIs, improving security, optimisation, improving the quality of existing code, and adding support for new features. Roles and Responsibilities Design, coding, testing, and deployment of the Rails app Assisting in maintaining the continuous integration (CI) system, which automates the build, test, and deploys process Participating in architectural and design discussions, including parts of the solution outside of the Ruby on Rails Developer's direct areas of responsibility Participating in process improvement & product design discussions Participating in product design discussions Participating in fortnightly lightweight scrum sessions Using JIRA to update issues Using a timesheet app to track your time Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, contribute to codebase commits Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, working well under pressure, and meeting work deadlines Required Experience Across-the-board software development capability, including design, coding, testing, and deployment At least three-five years of Ruby on Rails experience Good knowledge of PostgreSQL is desirable Experience working in an Agile team A Successful Candidate must have Fluency in written and spoken English Good communication skills Ability to work well within a team Ability to be flexible An attitude of being respectful, considerate, disciplined, responsible, and honest, and expect the same from your colleagues Experience Advantage Deploying on AWS Docker ReactJS JavaScript NET Buildkite Mobile app development (iOS, Android, and/or Windows) Writing and publishing your own apps Making significant contributions to open source projects Making significant contributions on StackOverflow ShoreXtra Perks Free barista-style coffee Free parking and jeepney services Highly engaged team Unlimited potential for growth Challenging role Fun and family-oriented working environment
