We're now seeking a talented and experienced Mortgage Underwriter Assistant to join our remote operations team.Job Overview:
As a Residential Mortgage Underwriter Assistant, you'll support our underwriting team by helping package and review loan files with precision and speed. You'll be expected to understand and follow U.S. lending guidelines, assess documentation for completeness, and use industry tools such as Encompass, DU, and LP. This is a remote position requiring consistent availability during Eastern Time business hours.Key Responsibilities:Assist in preparing and reviewing loan files for underwriting submissionRun and interpret DU and LP findingsCalculate borrower income (W-2, self-employed, rental, etc.)Review and analyze asset and bank statementsIdentify red flags or missing documentationCommunicate clearly with processors and loan officers to gather required conditionsUpdate file notes and maintain data integrity in EncompassQualifications:3+ years of experience as a mortgage underwriter, MLO assistant, or processor with direct income/asset review dutiesProficient with Encompass Loan Origination SystemStrong working knowledge of DU/LP, FHA/Conventional guidelines, and mortgage documentationExcellent attention to detail and analytical skillsReliable internet connection and suitable home office setupStrong English communication skills (verbal and written)Availability to work Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM ETPreferred:Previous experience working remotely for a U.S. mortgage companyKnowledge of U.S. mortgage compliance and documentation standardsWhy Join Reliant?Stable, long-term opportunity with a respected U.S. mortgage bankerCollaborative and supportive remote work environmentGrowth potential within an expanding teamTo Apply:
