JOB SUMMARY
 
The Nurse obtains blood samples from patients using skin puncture or venipuncture techniques. Appropriate care of specimen is expected to maintain the integrity of the sample. Responsibilities include assisting the Medical Technologist and inventory of stocks.
  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify personal identification and preparation of patient prior to drawing blood sample.
Extract blood samples from patients.
Receive and prepare specimen by checking proper labelling, check specification of specimen, performing centrifugation, check the correct volume and organize specimen according to categories.
Exercise safety through proper disposal of used needles, syringe and other materials.
Conduct inventory of stocks.
Comply to any call outs regarding Quality Standards.
Perform other job-related tasks as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a Registered Nurse
Certification and training as Phlebotomist is a plus
Must have 1 year experience in phlebotomy
Willing to be assigned in Mandaue Branch
