Negotiable Permanent contract Full Time
* Extracts blood samples from clients and/or instructs clients on proper preparation, collection, transport, labelling, and submission of other specimens like urine, stool, semen
• Performs a variety of determinations on different bodily fluids, confirms and verifies test results and reports following laboratory procedure and guidelines
• Operates, calibrates, and conducts performance checks on clinical laboratory equipment. Assumes responsibility to resolve problems. Performs required preventative maintenance procedures in laboratory instrumentation. Investigates and resolves technical problems, consults Laboratory Manager if resolution involves policy or procedure modification. Identifies real or potential situations or equipment failure, attempts to resolve within area of specialty or knowledge and refers complex issues to appropriate source
• Ensures laboratory test results are completely and accurately entered on pertinent forms and laboratory records while ensuring that no test results are missing or erroneously performed
• Prepares specimens to be stored or transported to the referral laboratory, checks specimens as to their condition, acceptability and appropriateness to the test and exceptions are noted.
• Performs and reviews quality controls in testing; decides if results are within acceptable ranges, researches problems and corrects them
• Accurately completes records and reports and other statistical information for master files or databases, following laboratory policy for data retrieval and record keeping
• Logs consumption of reagents based on number of tests and wastages.
• Monitors and ensures proper inventory of supplies and reagents and reports to the Laboratory Manager all supplies and reagents in critical quantity.
• Ensures proper delivery, receiving and storage of reagents based in temperature requirement and expiration date.
Requirements
Minimum education level: Bachelor ́s Degree
