Description
Job Functions:
• Receives specimen and/or extracts blood for laboratory processing.
• Explains the phlebotomy process to patients in order to alleviate their fears or anxiety.
• Performs Quality Control of reagents prior to processing of specimen.
• Performs/processes the requested laboratory tests either manually or through automation.
• Operates specialized equipment / machines used for Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology and Serology, Coagulation Studies.
• Accomplishes documentations and reports for timely renewal of laboratory licenses.
• Participates in activities required for National External Quality Assessment Schemes (NEQAS) certification
• Double checks the entries to ensure that results are accurately transcribed.
• Prepares and endorses the test results to the Clinic Support Staff for release to the patients.
• Records the results in the logbook and files it in designated areas in compliance with DOH mandate.
• Encodes the daily census report of all laboratory procedures performed.
• Prepares regular reports.
• Coordinates the schedule of preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment with Admin. Dept. through their Immediate
Supervisor.
• Performs daily calibration of Laboratory Equipment prior to running of specimen.
• Monitors and ensures adequate stock level of laboratory supplies.
• Prepares Purchase Request/Requisition for replenishment of supplies.
Job Requirements:
• Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
• Must be a licensed Medical Technologist.
• Must have at least 1 year of related experience.
• Must be Computer Literate - MS Office Applications.
• Must be Knowledgeable in operation and basic trouble shooting of equipment for Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology and
Serology, Coagulation Studies
• With Drug test Analyst Certificate is an advantage.
