Job description
Education: College Graduate: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent
Experience: At least 7 years experience in sales; preferably in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) company with managerial capacity
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Area Sales Manager, plans, monitors, leads and controls all activities affecting a smooth sales operation. The RSM is particularly in-charge of the operational and administrative functions encompassing the formulation of sales forecast, selling expense budget preparation and control, sales analysis, formulation and review of policies and procedures affecting the sales force and service provided to customers. He also ensures a proper training and development program for the field sales personnel is implemented to ensure profit and growth of the business in his assigned region.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Determines an accurate sales forecast in order to achieve a realistic sales target, address the logistical needs of the department and help create effective production plans by analyzing factors affecting sales such as market demand, price increases and market trend.
2. Determines an accurate annual and monthly sales target by comparing actual sales figures with the potentials of the current fiscal year to provide a clear and realistic goal to the entire Sales team.
3. Monitors and controls the execution of plan in achieving the sales target to ensure the attainment of targeted sales volume by reviewing and analyzing sales reports, monitoring the performance of subordinates to agreed plans and customizing assigned sales volume to each Unit Sales Manager based on his performance and the potentials of each assigned location.
4. Improves the distribution system by analyzing trade condition, customer demands and viability of plans in order to effectively push the products to the trade level for product availability and visibility and to increase the customer base.
5. Monitors and controls the sales expenditure to ensure expenses are within the approved budget by reviewing the expense reports and other related documents.
6. Monitors and supervises the work activities of Sales field personnel by ensuring their performance is in accordance with the assigned tasks in order to achieve the sales target.
7. Develops the skills of subordinates regularly by determining and addressing their needs to induce good performance and help realize the company's goals and objectives.
8. Monitors the quality and freshness of all products in the trade level by validating the performance of subordinates in observing the condition of the products to ensure they are all according to the company's accepted standards.
9. Coordinates with the different departments of the company (i.e. Logistics, Credit and Collection, Marketing, Human Resource, Legal) to ensure a smooth daily sales operation.
10. Implements company policies and procedures by strictly monitoring the proper adherence of subordinates to the said policies to ensure discipline and to create a harmonious working relationship in the organization.
11. Prepares and submits reports to superior regarding sales performance, operational plans, market trends and competitive analysis to provide update on the current status of sales operations.
12. Conducts regular meetings with subordinates to receive updates on sales field operation, organize plans for the week and determine issues and problems that need to be addressed.
13. Performs other tasks that may be assigned by superior from time to time.
