Job Description
PicnicHealth is a San Francisco, California-based, venture capital-funded healthcare and technology company. Our mission is to structure the world's medical data to make it useful. We work directly with patients to collect, digitize, and manage their complete medical records, empowering them with control over their care through a personal health timeline. Through this work we're building the data sets that power some of today's most cutting edge medical research. We're on track for rapid growth in the next year, coming off of our recent Grand Prize finish in Google Cloud's Machine Learning Startup Competition.
The office in Cebu, Philippines is responsible for medical record processing operations -- RNs, Medical Technologists, Pharmacists and Collections Agents who work with a wide-range of medical records, creating usable databases and beautiful timelines. In addition, the Cebu office is a new tech startup office with its own challenges and opportunities -- ones we feel are best addressed by a strong, local team.
Job Brief
The Quality Manager oversees and manages the full quality control cycle, designs quality management system, develops sustainable improvements in operations, provides recommendations for product and process development, leads standardization and documentation of team processes and procedures required by PicnicHealth to further drive reliability and consistency of operations procedures and protocols.
As a Quality Manager, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Responsibilities
Build a Quality Control Team
Oversees and manages the Quality Control team
Recruits, selects, and on-boards Quality Control team leads members
Ensures great new QC hire experience with a standard Onboarding program
Provides governance in the training and development needs of new team members and ensuring training materials are available and up to date
Ensures the implementation of regular coaching sessions with team members, recognizing strengths and develop action plans to address areas for improvement
Partners with the recruitment team for continuous improvement of recruiting, hiring and on-boarding process.
Identify and manage the headcount capacity of the team to ensure a well balanced QC operations.
Manage Performance of Quality Control Team
Develop and communicate performance targets / individual goals for regular work assignments.
Ensures consistent monitoring of the performance and timely feedback to probationary employees, including recommendation for probationary expiration or regularization.
Hold weekly/monthly performance evaluation and one-on-one reviews for team members.
Identify key performers and work with them to create a PDP (Performance Development Plan) - for succession planning purposes.
Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.
Manage the Continuous Improvement of the Quality Control Team
Proactively identify and solve areas of improvement in QC operations
Lead in identifying improvements in operations through various tools (Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions & Preventive Action) and provide recommendations for product and process development.
Establish standardization and documentation of team processes and procedures.
Review and update team protocols and other reference materials periodically.
Implementation of quality systems across organization
Requirements
Proven experience as a Quality Control Manager or similar
Preferably with work experience in a startup environment
Current knowledge of quality management system
Familiarity with quality inspection tools and methodology
Comfortable with leading and operating in ambiguous environments.
Experience in project management and budgeting
Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen
Ability to build rapport with employees
