The Quality Control Inspector (Hangar & Shop) reports to the Director of Quality, and is responsible for the quality control functions as well as coordinating, accomplishing, and supervising all inspection functions in the hangar / shop areas. Because the person in this position is assigned supervisory and inspection duties and/or will be authorized to approve the work on articles for return to service, the person must be qualified per 14 CFR 145.153, 145.155 and 145.157. Responsibilities: Thoroughly familiar with the maintenance, preventive maintenance, alteration and inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the work is performed properly and the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations are being performed. (See: 14 CFR 145.153(a) and 145.155(a)(2) ) Proficient in using the various types of tools, equipment and inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being maintained, altered and/or inspected. Perform incoming/receiving inspection on articles and materials, including new parts and supplies in accordance with the procedures contained in RSQCM. Issue serviceable labels for new parts and materials after incoming/receiving inspection. Conduct incoming, receiving, preliminary, hidden damage, in-process and final inspections of articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance or alteration are performed in accordance with the applicable maintenance data and the procedures. Assure proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the manual. See that rejected and unserviceable parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts. Ascertain that all Inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is approved for return to service, and that the proper inspection and maintenance records, reports, and forms required for such releases are properly executed. Perform a final inspection to ensure all the listed discrepancies have been corrected and are airworthy with respect to the work performed in accordance with 14 CFR part 43. Review both the article and paperwork and sign the Corridor Work Order with their electronic signature. Complete the appropriate approved for return to service on the maintenance release (FAA Form 8130-3 or aircraft log) Coordinate with the Director of Quality to determine if a part should be reported under the Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPs) program and for filing reports under that program Carry out the assigned tasks, in accordance with this manual, when work outside the repair station's fixed location is performed Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance or equivalent experience that satisfy the educational requirements. FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license At least five (5) years of experience in Quality Control Inspection
